Geneva Parisserie Pâtisserie
Parisserie is a 110 sqm café located along one of Geneva’s lively urban streets. The project is shaped around the existing linear proportions of the space, transforming this condition into the main element of the spatial organization. From the street, the generous shopfront offers glimpses into the interior, allowing the café’s elongated layout, material palette, and different layers of activity to become part of its identity.
Upon entering, guests are welcomed by the display and service counter, positioned as the focal point of the café. From here, the space gradually unfolds into a variety of seating arrangements, each offering a different way of experiencing the interior. Window-side bar tables create more intimate settings for guests who wish to sit individually or work with a laptop, while the large communal table at the center encourages a more collective and social atmosphere. Smaller tables accommodate pairs and groups.

The sense of linearity is reinforced by a clear sequence of spatial zones, articulated through changes in the ceiling. A higher navy-blue ceiling defines the main circulation axis and visually extends through the length of the café, while lower white ceiling elements frame the service counter and seating areas. Ceiling details further emphasize these zones without creating physical boundaries, allowing the interior to remain open and visually connected.
At the center of the space, the communal table becomes an anchor around which the different seating areas are organized. A large mirrored surface extends the visual depth of the café and reflects the surrounding activity, creating the perception of a more generous interior while maintaining its intimate character. Throughout the project, framed openings, wall finishes, lighting elements, and furniture are treated as parts of the same architectural language, bringing rhythm and continuity to the space.
The material and color palette combines deep navy blue with soft salmon tones, off-white surfaces, and subtle oak finishes. The contrast between the saturated blue elements and the lighter timber and neutral surfaces gives the café a distinct identity while maintaining a warm and welcoming atmosphere. Salmon-colored details introduce softer accents throughout the interior, balancing the stronger architectural elements.
Together with the warm lighting scheme, the palette creates an atmosphere that feels bold and contemporary yet familiar and timeless. Rather than defining the café through a single type of seating or experience, the design brings together different scales of interaction—from a quiet seat by the window to a shared table at the center—within one continuous and cohesive interior.
